What it is
EroPlay.ai is an interactive AI roleplay service for adults. People create characters and hold open-ended conversations with them, and the service keeps their characters, chats and purchase history in their account. It is sold as a subscription.
The service is not available in the United Kingdom, because of the rules the Online Safety Act 2023 sets for adult content services there.
Our role
We were the technology partner for the MVP, starting in May 2024. Our job was to build a first version quickly and find out whether people wanted it. Once the demand was clear and the product needed a full-time CTO, we handed it over, as planned.
What we built
The MVP was written by hand, before AI coding tools were part of everyday work. The parts that mattered were the ones a roleplay product lives on: routing each request to a suitable language model through OpenRouter, summarising long conversations so a character stays consistent beyond what a model can read at once, and orchestrating several models within one conversation.
The outcome
The MVP validated the demand for the product. With that settled, the company hired a full-time CTO, who took the product forward.
What we took from it
EroPlay.ai is where we learned model routing, summarisation and orchestration across several models on a live product. The same techniques sit under the agents we build now.
